Astros Rally Late To Secure Victory

Kansas City Royals Lose Lead, Fall to Astros Amid Potential New Injuries

Astros Rally Late to Secure Victory

The Kansas City Royals suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Houston Astros on Monday night, blowing a late lead and falling 6-4 in 10 innings.

The Royals led 4-2 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Astros rallied to tie the game on a two-run home run by Jose Altuve.

In the 10th inning, the Astros took the lead on a sacrifice fly by Jeremy Pena, and they added an insurance run on a single by Chas McCormick.

Injuries Cast Shadow Over Loss

The loss was made even more disappointing by the fact that the Royals may have suffered two significant injuries.

Outfielder Andrew Benintendi left the game in the fifth inning with a left wrist injury, and pitcher Zack Greinke was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday with a right forearm strain.

The Royals are already without several key players due to injuries, including Salvador Perez, Brad Keller, and Kris Bubic.

Looking Ahead

The Royals will try to bounce back from the loss when they face the Astros again on Tuesday night.

Brad Keller is scheduled to start for the Royals, while Lance McCullers Jr. will take the mound for the Astros.

The Royals are now 26-40 on the season and are in last place in the AL Central.
